60 minutes with Anne Boleyn (2015) documents the enactment of a historical figure through sixty “selfies”. Content and techniques may fluctuate the self with the project’s namesake through each image, inviting us to discuss the separation of fact from fiction. For instance, when are the images more sincere, and when are they more constructed? When are they unique to the subject, and when are they more politicised, symbolic, or more related to the historical subject? On another level, the project can also be seen to connect personal experiences with those considered historical. Various techniques and symbols, for example, are employed to emphasise shared situations throughout day to day activities.
